The Canyons Education Foundation is serving up some team spirit with a little friendly competition — a pickleball tournament for Canyons District employees and their sport-loving friends and family members.
Co-sponsored by the District’s Wellness Committee, this paddle-powered showdown is your chance to take a breather and enjoy some downtime with colleagues. Whether you’re a seasoned smash master or still figuring out the “art of the dink,” this is all about having fun, building connections, and giving back.
All proceeds raised will benefit Canyons District’s Unified Sports program, which means every point scored will support inclusive athletics for students of all abilities.
The tournament is Saturday, May 10, 5-9 p.m. at Club Pickleball USA, 203 W. 9000 South, Sandy. This is a mixed, or co-ed, doubles tournament. Registration is $75 per team and teams must register and pay in advance, selecting their skill level at sign-up.
- Beginner: 5-6 p.m.
- Intermediate: 6:30-7:30 p.m.
- Advanced: 8-9 p.m.
Please plan on checking in 30 minutes before your scheduled playtime. Each team will walk away with some pickleball swag, and is guaranteed two games within a one-hour span. There will be snacks on hand and a few courts reserved for open play.
Games will be played to 11 points and must be won by 2 points, unless otherwise adjusted for time. Standard USA Pickleball rules apply. Prizes, and bragging rights, will be given for First Place in each division.
Bring your A-game and help us net some cash for a deserving cause. Let’s make this inaugural pickleball tournament a big “dill.”
