Our early childhood department supports programs for children ages 3 thru 5 years of age. Children can access to these programs through paying tuition, living within a Title I school boundaries, or by being identified as a child with a disability. We use an evidence based curriculum that addresses content areas such as early mathematics, exploration, early literacy, social skills, conflict resolution, and language development. Jordan Valley School (801-826-7200)
Jordan Valley School is a center-based school for students with significant disabilities in Canyons School District. Special education and related services are provided to students from birth to age 22 based on an IEP team decision. These services may include, Speech and Language Therapy, School Psychology Services, Physical and Occupational Therapy Services, Music Therapy, Adapted P.E. and Transportation. The facility includes a therapy swimming pool, two multi-sensory environment rooms, two playgrounds, a gymnasium, a cafeteria and an onsite school nurse station. Canyons Transition Academy is a Post-Secondary Transition program providing students with disabilities the opportunity to make choices in a safe environment with person-centered planning, hands-on training, community access, and inclusion in community activities that lead to greater independence for living and employment.
