Canyons Strong

Celebrating Years of Service

Every day, a dedicated corps of teachers, administrators, bus drivers, technology experts, financial wizards, and lunch, office, and custodial staffs pull together to bring a world-class education to 33,000 students. The day-to-day operations may appear seamless. But it wouldn’t happen without the good work and expertise of the people who make Canyons strong.

As a small token of the great pride that the Canyons Board of Education and Administration have in CSD’s employees, the District launched an employee service pin program in 2023. The first batch of pins were distributed in the fall of 2023.

Going forward, as employees reach career milestones, we invite them to complete the form below. Starting with their fifth year of service, employees can receive a pin for every five years of service up to 50 years.

Details

  • Full- and part-time employees are eligible for service pins (not including substitutes or volunteers)
  • Service pins will be distributed annually at the beginning of the school year.
  • Questions? Email communications@canyonsdistrict.org
Note: Years spent in service of Jordan District count toward your total years of service.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
