Teacher Resource Center

The Teacher Resource Center provides work space and materials to produce games, worksheets, art projects, and visual aids to support classroom curriculum. The center includes a copy center, laminating equipment, poster maker, die cuts, fun foam, boxes, and Cerlox equipment to make booklets. Assistants are available to help you with your projects.

Everyone must check in at the Teacher Resource Center desk and show their ID badge before using the center. For safety reasons, no children under 6 years of age are allowed in the Teacher Resource Center. Only school and District projects may be done in the Teacher Resource Center. Employees should take personal or non-school related projects to libraries or outside printing firms.

We are located in the lower level of the Canyons District office: 9361 South 300 East, Sandy, Utah.

Educational Trunks

We have Educational Trunks donated by Utah’s Hogle Zoo, Clark Planetarium, and the Natural History Museum of Utah plus a few more we have put together.  Our Newest Trunks are by Utah’s Hogle Zoo titled “Wild Aware Utah” and “Climate Care-Discover Wild” which are about animals and more. Our Trunks are listed under “Resources” in Destiny to find out more.

They can be easily ordered on line by going to destiny.canyonsdistrict.org and searching the catalog. You may also call the TRC at 801-826-5516 if you need assistance. We are happy to walk you through the ordering process until you are familiar with it.

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
