Kick off your family’s summer activities at Canyons District Night at America First Field.
Just days after the final day of the 2022-2023 school year — and to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2023 — Real Salt Lake is inviting the Canyons community to a special event to cheer the team past the L.A. Galaxy. Canyons District parents, students, teachers, and Education Support Professionals can snap up heavily discounted tickets to the 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 31 home game.
Tickets as low as $30 are now available online. The reduced cost — the tickets are usually $56 — is available to the Canyons District community so more folks also can come cheer for Canyons’ Teachers of the Year, who all received complimentary tickets for themselves and a guest.
The tickets are courtesy of Real Salt Lake, which is a major supporter of Canyons students, teachers, schools, and programs.
Immediately following the 45th minutes of the game, the 47 Teachers of the Year from Canyons District schools and programs will be escorted to the middle of the field at America First Field to be applauded by the cheering hometown crowd.
Midvale Middle’s Maxwell Eddington was recently announced as CSD’s Teacher of the Year and the District’s nominee in the state top-teacher selection process. The mathematics teacher received $1,000 cash from the Canyons Education Foundation, plus a gift bag worth hundreds in gifts and prizes.
CSD’s top high school teacher is Hillcrest’s science teacher Tasha Jensen. Canyons’ top elementary teacher is Rachel Teasley, who leads classes at East Midvale Elementary. Both Jensen and Teasley received $500 cash from the Canyons Education Foundation in addition to the prizes and gifts.
