Canyons Announces 2023 High School Graduation Dates

In Canyons District, there’s something for everyone, from championship sports teams to award-winning arts, science and technology programs. From dual-language immersion classes in Spanish, French, and Chinese to college prep programs that allow you to earn college credit while in high school. Something to light the fire of learning. Something to inspire creativity. Something to build character.

Students put in the hard work and we provide the personalized care and attention to get them across the K-12 finish line — a momentous occasion that deserves to be celebrated each year with pomp and circumstance. So, circle your calendars and join us in celebrating the achievements of our exceptional Class of 2023.

Canyons District’s five traditional high schools will perform commencement rites on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Ceremonies for special programs and schools will be held on separate dates (see below).

Brighton High School — May 25, 6:30 p.m., Maverik Center

Corner Canyon High — May 25, 2 p.m., University of Utah Huntsman Center

Hillcrest High School — May 25, 9:30 a.m., Maverik Center

Jordan High School — May 25, 2 p.m., Maverik Center

Jordan Valley School — May 19, 4 p.m., Canyon Board of Education Chambers

Diamond Ridge High School — May 24, 6:30 p.m., Mt. Jordan Middle School

Canyons Transitions Academy — May 24, 12:30 p.m., Canyons District Office, Canyons Center

Entrada — June 22, 7 p.m., Jordan High School

Lucie Chamberlain

Alta View Elementary

If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added:  “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
