Electricity has been restored at Mount Jordan Middle School, which operated several hours without power Wednesday morning.
A blown transformer caused the power outage. Electricity came on at the school at about 10:30 a.m.
Canyons Superintendent Dave Doty determined early Wednesday that, despite the lack of power, school would be held as usual. There is enough natural light at the school to be able to hold classes with little disruption to the educational environment. Classes at Mount Jordan begin at 7:30 a.m. and the final bell rings at 2:30 p.m.
The District thanks students, faculty and staff at Mount Jordan for their patience and understanding as crews worked to restore power.
