Two Canyons District school psychologists recently won awards from the Utah Association of School Psychologists.
Lane Valum, who supervises Canyons District’s school psychologists, won the association’s School Psychologist of the Year award. Dr. Valum, who serves as UASP’s treasurer, is a respected leader in the field of school psychology.
Niloufar Sanatinia won the Barbara Bennett Excellence in Diversity Award. As a bilingual psychologist, she is a consultant to schools during the pre-referral and special education evaluation process for students who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
