In an effort to save money in a tight budget year, Canyons School District has scheduled several four-day work weeks during the summer months.
On the fifth day of the week Fridays the Canyons Administrative Building and the Canyons Support Services Center, as well as all CSD schools, will be closed and utility systems shut down. The District anticipates saving an estimated $18,000 per day the schools and District Offices are not in operation.
The summer schedule is as follows:
- June 7 Four 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday)
- June 14 Four 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday)
- June 21 Four 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday)
- June 28 Four 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday)
- July 5 Closed Monday, July 5, for Fourth of July holiday; work 10-hour workdays (Tuesday-Thursday)
- July 12 Four 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday)
- July 19 Closed Friday, July 23 for Pioneer Day holiday; work four 8-hour work days (Monday-Thursday)
- July 26 Return to five 8-hour workdays
