The Spanish Embassy is lauding Alta View as a Dual-Language Immersion model school. The Embassy is awarding the prestigious International Spanish Academies designation to the Sandy school, now part of an exclusive group of 89 ISA schools across the globe.
The school hosted visiting dignitaries, including Xavier Gisbert Da Cruz, the Spanish Embassy’s Counselor of Education for the United States and Canada, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, as part of the ISA’s administrative seminar in Park City. Alta View will receive ISA honors at a luncheon ceremony at Brigham Young University on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
ISA is an international cooperative educational project between schools in the U.S. and Canada and the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain. The program offers specialized visiting teachers and professional development to educators in dual-immersion programs. It aims to develop quality bilingual education programs promoting high academic standards for all children, provide multicultural education, and foster international relations and understanding.
