Elementary math education embraces the principle that every student should cultivate their identity as a mathematician. In this empowering learning environment, classrooms engage students with challenging and rigorous tasks that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Through vibrant mathematical discourse, students actively participate in discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of concepts. Moreover, the integration of manipulatives into daily instruction provides tangible and interactive experiences that solidify mathematical foundations and inspire a lifelong love for the subject.
Teachers self-enroll in the Building Fact Fluency course via Canvas to request a kit. Once a kit is requested it will come via district mail. Teachers must register their kit using the access code on the inside cover of the box to fully access the materials and complete the course for a stipend and credit.
Building Fact Fluency kits are property of Canyons School District and checked out to individual teachers for use in the classroom. If a teacher moves schools or leaves the district, the kit must be returned to Laurie Mecham in ISD.
