The home-to-school connection in Canyons District will be strengthened with a districtwide launch of a digital communication platform called ParentSquare, a communication tool that combines multiple communication streams into one easy-to-use interface for families, teachers, principals, and support staff. Starting this fall, parents will receive information via ParentSquare in addition to the robocalls, texts and emails from Skylert, the District’s current one-way communication system.
ParentSquare, on the other hand, allows for two-way communication between the school and parents. The platform will serve as the app that is approved for use in CSD schools so that parents do not have to go to various places and apps to get information about their child’s school, class, or extracurricular club or team.
Here is what you can do with ParentSquare this year
A few of the things you can do on the app:
ParentSquare was piloted in a limited number of CSD schools last year. Positive feedback from both employees and the community, especially from multi-lingual families who benefit from the service’s instantaneous translations, prompted a districtwide implementation of the app.
Communication to Parents
After Back-to-School Online Registration, parents will receive an activation email for their ParentSquare account. Those who do not register will still receive text, email, and phone notifications. Parents who do create an account can interact by viewing photos, downloading attachments, leaving comments, messaging teachers, signing permission slips and managing their communication settings and preferences.

Parents also can go to parentsquare.com to sign into their free account. Please make sure to use either the email address or the phone number as listed in Skyward.
If a movie about super teachers were ever made, Lucie Chamberlain would be a prime candidate for a leading role. Fortunately for her kindergarten students at Alta View Elementary, she already thrives in a supporting role for them. Parents thank her for being a “super teacher.” She is also described as an “amazing colleague.” Whether students need help in the classroom or from home while sick, Lucie goes above and beyond to help them learn, overcome fears, and feel important and cared for. Lucie is the reason a number of kids went from hating school to loving it, according to parents. The way she exudes patience, sweetness, positive energy, and love for her students with special needs melts is appreciated and admired. One parent noted: “Both my kids wish she could be their teacher forever.” Another added: “She treats every student like their learning and their feelings are her priority.” Super teacher, indeed!
