All of Canyons’ building projects were inspired by the vision of Canyons Board of Education to help students become college-and career-ready by the time they graduate. To that end, the District moved students in 6th grade out of elementary school and into middle school, while moving students in 9th grade out of middle school and into high school. This created a more cohesive, four-year pipeline to college, and increased enrollment at the District’s five traditional high schools. To accommodate that growth at Brighton, the District built an addition to the school. The Bengal Building houses additional classroom space, a dance room, new weight room, and science and computer labs.  The Board also invested a sizeable portion of the District’s capital facilities funds to install new tennis courts and new football and soccer fields, as well as make improvements to the baseball field. In addition, the school’s auditorium sound system and roof were upgraded.
