The Brighton Bengals are taking a bite out of the Big Apple.
Brighton’s Model United Nations Team, long-ranked as one of the best in the country, is in New York this week to compete in the National High School Model UN contest. The team, which began competing on Wednesday night, won the right to vie for honors nationally after dominating at the recent state Model UN contest at Utah State University.
At Utah’s competition, the Brighton students won 15 of the top awards.
Some 3,500 students from more than 40 countries will be represented at nationals, which provides students the opportunity to present their arguments in the U.N. General Assembly Hall.
Students and their advisers have already visited the Museum of Modern Art and Ground Zero while in New York.
