The Canyons Board of Education has approved $3.8 million in small-capital facilities projects funded in the budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016. This isn’t a complete list of projects that will be done in Canyons District schools, however. A full capital-facilities list will be put in front of the Board later this spring as part of the budget. Here are the projects approved by the Board:
- All Schools: Natural gas shut-off valves in case of earthquakes $75,000
- Elementary:Â Security vestibule doors at five schools $250,000
- High School:Â Security camera upgrade at one school $150,000
- Midvale Elementary:Â Add four classrooms to remove portables $1.4 million
- Midvalley Elementary:Â Boiler replacement $400,000
- Lone Peak Elementary:Â Slope stabilization from lawn $400,000
- Peruvian Park Elementary:Â Boiler replacement $400,000
- Alta High: Upgrade ceiling tile/lighting $200,000
- Brighton High: Roof repairs $400,000
- Jordan High: Relocate special education room $200,000â¨Â
