Canyons District’s Office of Special Education and Related Services is sponsoring a series of workshops taught by Melisa Genaux, a Salt Lake-based expert in the areas of autism spectrum disorders.
The six workshops, titled “Focus on Autism: Understanding High-Functioning Autism and Aspberger’s Syndrome,” will be from 4-7 p.m. in the Professional Development Center in the Canyons Support Services Center, 9361 S. 300 East.

Parents, patrons and employees are invited to attend the workshops by Genaux, who is a noted presenter and author. Her areas of expertise, which she shares with school districts nationwide, include compliance and legal issues, social skills for children with autism spectrum disorders, and classroom management. It’s recommended, but not necessary, to attend all the workshops.
