Ever wanted to put on a fire fighter’s suit? Learn about 3-D animation? Or do you need a free manicure and pedicure? Here’s your chance. The Canyons Technical Education Center invites middle and high school students and their parents to an open house from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
“This is an opportunity for us to show off the great programs at CTEC,” said Ken Spurlock, CTEC principal. “We not only help students find pathways to high-wage, high-skill fields, we’re also putting them on the road to getting ready for the academic challenges of college.”
Spurlock said students and faculty have planned demonstrations in such programs as cosmetology and barbering, computer programming, fire science, medical assisting and welding, among others.
Instructors and high school coordinators will be at the free event to answer questions and give registration advice. Students will be available to talk about the programs in which they are enrolled and provide tours of the facility, 825 E. 9085 South.
Refreshments will be served.
