It’s almost time for the curtain to go up on the annual fall musicals produced by Canyons District’s four high schools, which are all known for their powerhouse performances.
The first night of Brighton High’s musical, “Bye Bye Birdie,” a story inspired Elvis Presley’s draft notice into the Army, is Thursday, Oct. 25. The 7 p.m. show will run nightly Oct. 26-27 and then again Monday, Oct. 29. There also will be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Oct. 27. Cost is $8 for the public and $5 for students.
Alta High’s “Once On this Island,” a one-act tale of love and hope, will be Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. Cost is $8.25 in advance and $9 at the door.
Jordan High is producing “Pippin,” a musical from the 1970s that was originally directed by stage legend Bob Fossee. The show runs Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 19, 7 p.m. Cost is $7.
Hillcrest High is presenting “Will Rogers Follies,” a Tony Award-winning show that casts a spotlight on famed humorist Will Rogers. The shows will be Nov. Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 19. Shows are at 7 p.m. Cost is $8 in advanced and $10 at the door.
