Quick, folks. Grab an autograph from Malia Morley. It’s going to be worth something someday. Morley, the star of Hillcrest High’s “Aida,” won the high school version of a Tony at the National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City.
Morley, who won “The Jimmy” for Best Performance in an Ensemble, qualified to be considered by winning at the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater’s High School Theater Awards. She was joined at the national event by Alta’s Peter Lambert and Brock Damjanovich, who won state awards for “Crazy for You.”
She plans to begin studying musical theater this fall at the University of Utah. Her ultimate goal: Broadway.
