Canyons School District welcomes eight countries to Utah to compete for the Junior World Rugby Trophy. The two-week, international rugby tournament began June 14, 2012, and includes teams from Canada, Zimbabwe, Tonga, Chile, Japan, Russia, Georgia, and the United States. Canyons School District is honored to provide training fields to the U.S. team. Tournament play will take place in Murray.
The event, which runs through June 30, is hosted by USA Rugby, a non-profit organization that oversees the sport, which includes 200,000 U.S. athletes of all ages and levels of competition. This marks the first time the United States has hosted the international rugby tournament.
