Two Canyons District schools are finalists in the “Power a Bright Future” contest sponsored by the Clorox Company. The schools need online votes to win cash awards to pay for innovative programs and staffing solutions that will help even a greater number of students.
Our elementary school finalist is Brookwood Elementary. The school wants to use the $50,000 winner’s award to pay for a new iPad Learning Lab.
Our secondary finalist is Midvale Middle School. The grant would pay for two 17-hour aides who keep the school’s tracking program and homework hour alive, plus two 17-hour aides in the Counseling Center. Additional money would be used to buy a mobile computer lab.

You can vote through Dec. 9. The contest allows one vote per person per day.
