Canyons Superintendent David Doty is profiled in the October 2011 edition of The School Administrator, the magazine of the American Association of School Adminstrators.
The profile, “A Startup District’s Uber-Tweeter,” focuses on Canyons School District innovations and Dr. Doty’s use of social media to keep stakeholders apprised of school, District and educational leadership news.
“Doty has seized full advantage of the entrepreneurial opportunities that accompany the startup of a new school system, Utah’s first in 100 years,” states the article, penned by editor Jay P. Goldman. “With an ample dose of personal energy and a unique fascination with social media to connect with those in his community, the affable Doty already has put in place some progressive ideas, including differentiated diplomas for high schoolers.”
