Canyons Superintendent David S. Doty is on the cover of the May 19, 2010 edition of Education Week, recognized as “American education’s newspaper of record.”
The article about Canyons School District, “New Utah School District a Test of Leadership Skill,” examines the ways in which Canyons has seized unique opportunities to innovate as it starts anew in public education.
“Already we are seeing community involvement we hadn’t seen before. I get constant feedback about how refreshing that is,” Rep. Greg Hughes, R-Draper and co-sponsor of the legislation allowing smaller school districts, told the newspaper. “The pipeline of information is creating trust with this district that didn’t exist before.”
