The Utah Technology Council has released a Letter in support of Canyons School District’s academic plan, which provides students an opportunity to earn advanced diplomas by successfully completing courses of study that are aligned with the expectations of colleges and employers. According to the proposal, students who choose to participate in the advanced-diploma program would be asked to complete a rigorous set of classes above and beyond what is currently required by the state to earn a high school diploma. This includes additional math and lab-based science courses, plus two years of foreign-language training.
