Title VI Native American Education

Title VI provides support to Native American/Alaskan Native students. This federal program recognizes the unique status of indigenous people as sovereign nations, and works through the schools in an effort to provide supplemental academic support. The Academic Collaboration of American Indian Students is one such program for high school students which supports students in their efforts to become college and career ready and to encourgae students to honor and practice cultural traditions.

An elected Parent Committee assists in reviewing summary data to determine needs, participates in writing the federal grant and helps determine how the funds are used. Please watch for future links to access additional information and resources for indigenous families and students.

Native American Family Activity Nights are held and a community newsletter is sent to the homes of Native American patrons of CSD each academic quarter.

All parents of students who are Native American or Alaskan Natives are requested to complete a 506 Form showing Tribal affiliation. This form generates federal dollars to support supplemental educational programs for students.
