Sherril H. Taylor is one of the first seven members to serve on the inaugural Canyons Board of Education. Elected to the Jordan Board of Education in 2004, Mr. Taylor currently serves as President of the Canyons Board of Education. He represents District 6. Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University, a Master of Education degree from Westminster College, and an Administrative Certificate from the University of Utah.
A retired educator of 33 years, Mr. Taylor has served as a classroom teacher, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and staff assistant in the Jordan District Central Office. He also served four years as Vice President of the inaugural Canyons Board of Education. He is an associate with the Center for the Improvement of Teacher Education and Schooling (CITES), and has served on numerous Jordan District committees. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Utah High School Activities Association, and as a youth leader and camp director for the United States Forest Service.
He and his wife, Patricia, have two children and six grandchildren.
