Steve Wrigley was elected to the Canyons Board of Education in November 2010 to represent District 5 in Sandy. He has a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology Counseling from California State University, Fresno. He teaches community Marriage Education classes and is a Certified Public Manager. Mr. Wrigley has worked the past 37 years in the human services field, serving individuals and families with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and physical disabilities. He is a winner of the Utah Department of Human Services’ Lifetime Achievement award and the Utah Governor’s Award for Excellence for Humanitarianism. He is an administrator with the Utah Department of Human Services, in the Division of Services for People with Disabilities.
Mr. Wrigley believes strongly in community and church service. In addition to serving as a member of the Board of Education, he serves on the Sandy City Board of Adjustment. Mr. Wrigley and his wife, Carrie Maxwell Wrigley, are the parents of five children. Two of their children attend schools in the Canyons School District.
